Doctor's and civil registry death certificates

A distinction has to be made: extract copies of the death certificate. In order to obtain an extract copy of a death certificate (or a certified true copy ), the applicant has to report to the municipal administration (civil status department ) or write to the administration, with a photocopy of the identity card and the marriage certificate. This extract copy may be issued only to a relative in the ascendant or descendant line or to the spouse. Hence it may not be issued, say, to a collateral relative (brother, sister,...) unless, in common with any other authorised representative, the individual has a proxy signed by an authorised person and a copy of the individual's identity card.
